1. Can you tell us more about your 19-year career in eye hair removal therapy and how you became an expert in threading?
I moved to London from Hyderabad, India, in 2004. Being an economics student, I learned threading as a hobby. After coming to the UK, I was presented with the opportunity to work at Fenwick, Bond Street, which had one of the finest brow bars. Since then, I have worked very hard to build up an extensive career spanning 22 years in eye hair removal therapy, and I have become an absolute expert in threading. My eyebrow and lash bar is now based in Mayfair.

3. Could you elaborate on your signature head massage that you offer after each treatment? What are its benefits?
Emerald Brows offers a signature head massage that lasts for thirty seconds. This massage is designed to relax and soothe the client’s skin, making them feel revitalised after any discomfort that might have been caused during threading.
4. You mentioned that you understand different face shapes. How do you determine the best eyebrow shape for each individual, and what factors do you consider?
Client consultation plays an important role; bringing them to an expert with careful hands and a vision of how they want them to look can help them gain confidence about one part of their appearance. Firstly, I listen to clients’ needs and expectations. Then, according to their natural brows, I decide which shape will complement and frame their face the most, as each individual’s brows have different thickness, length, growth, colour, etc. For example, soft-angled eyebrows work well for those with round face shapes; the soft-angled shape involves creating soft curves and peaks. The different factors I consider are face shape, the personal opinion of the client, and potential eyebrow shape.
5. Can you share some insights into your techniques for filling out gaps, balancing, and evening out brows? What sets your approach apart?
As a brow artist, I thread brows, pluck, and trim them, tailoring them for a groomed look. To fill out gaps, we can use brow products such as pencils, brow powders, brow gels, brow tints, and brow pomades. These products help the brows achieve a more defined look, balancing and evening them out.
6. Being located in Mayfair, you’ve worked with A-list clients and celebrities. Could you share some memorable experiences or success stories from your work with them?
I have many memories of working with VIP clients and A-list celebrities. One of my best experiences was working with a well-known actress who is considered an A-list celebrity. It was a very pleasant experience; this actress was very down-to-earth, welcoming, and appreciative of my work. Another memorable experience was working with another A-list client, whom I visited at Basingstoke Palace for a brow and lash treatment. I have had many success stories, but one that is very close to my heart is winning the English Nails, Brows, and Lashes Award 2023 for the best brow bar of the year. This award was organised by Creative Oceanic but was voted for by the public, who nominated their favourite salons and go-to professionals. The finalists were the ones who successfully established their presence in the competitive beauty industry through their dedication to being the best. Another one of my biggest successes is my loyal clientele from all around the world. Without my clients, I would not be as successful as I am today.
7. Teen Vogue interviewed you about your technique. What did the interview highlight, and how has it impacted your career and clientele?
The Teen Vogue interview highlighted ‘How to get perfect brows like Cara Delevingne,’ in which I stated, ‘The key is to put the arch in the right place.’ In this interview, I simplified how to maintain a natural, defined look that frames the client’s face. This simple brow trick has had a massive impact on my career, as it has attracted many celebrities, such as Little Mix and Alexandra Burke.
8. How do you stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in eyebrow and lash treatments, and how do you incorporate them into your services?
I regularly enrol in brow, lash, and skin courses advertised on social media, which help me gain insight into new trends and what is in demand in the beauty industry. I enjoy learning new skills and techniques that I can incorporate into my regular treatments. In the future, I will continue to pursue more courses to enhance my understanding.
9. What advice would you give to individuals looking to maintain their eyebrows and eyelashes between appointments at Emerald Brows?
At Emerald Brows, after each treatment with my client, I educate them on the aftercare of their brows and lashes, etc. I always advise clients to avoid harsh chemicals for at least forty-eight hours after the treatment and to use a good brow or lash serum. Personally, I recommend the brand Eyebrow Queen. Both lashes and brows need conditioning between appointments to keep them in the best condition. If the brows are tinted, they need a retouch after three weeks and should be filled in with the right products. It is important to avoid plucking, as this disturbs the hair cycle and prolongs the hair growth time. I recommend waiting at least three to five weeks before the next brow appointment, six weeks for lash lifts, and three weeks for lash tints.
10. Finally, can you provide some information on the newest equipment and technologies you use in your treatments and how they enhance the overall experience for your clients?
