Organized by the Maharashtra State Tourism Department and Pune District Administration, the Hindavi Swarajya Mahotsav 2024 promises a three-day extravaganza immersing attendees in the rich tapestry of Maharashtra’s heritage and ethos.
The festivities commenced with grandeur and enthusiasm, kicking off with a captivating Mahadurg Fort Walk led by Vinayak Khot. This historic expedition traced the pathways of Shivneri Fort, offering participants a glimpse into the valorous tales and majestic architecture encapsulated within its walls.
Throughout the day, the air buzzed with excitement as various attractions were unveiled. The Adventure Zone, inaugurated by Dhaneshsheth Sancheti, beckoned adventure enthusiasts with adrenaline-fueled experiences. Simultaneously, the Heritage Walk at Junnar Fort and the Art District at Bhutte Patil showcased the region’s rich cultural heritage, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its storied past.
Adding to the allure, the Tent City, inaugurated by tourism officials, provided a serene retreat by the waterside, while the Concert Area at Bhutte Patil Ground set the stage for mesmerizing performances. Culinary aficionados rejoiced at the inauguration of the Food District, tantalizing taste buds with a diverse array of culinary delights.
As night descended, the serenity of the Camp Site offered a perfect backdrop for a session of Star Gazing, allowing attendees to contemplate under the vast expanse of the night sky.
Looking ahead, February 19th promises even more excitement. The day will begin with the Shiv Janmotsav celebration at Fort Shivneri, honouring the birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Adventure seekers can indulge in thrilling activities at the Zipline Arena, while others can explore Junnar Fort or partake in a Farm Visit at the Tent City.
Throughout the day, workshops at the Art District will ignite creativity, while the Food Festival at Bhutte Patil Ground will offer a delightful culinary journey. Water Sports at the Tent City will provide aquatic adventures, followed by the spiritual fervour of Maha Shiv Aarti at Bhutte Patil Ground.
The evening will crescendo with the grand finale, “Shivshambhu Shaurya Gatha” by Shiv Sahyadri, a theatrical masterpiece depicting the valour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
