Sanara Roy, hailing from Kolkata, transitioned from a successful career in engineering and finance to becoming a renowned supermodel and actress. With accolades including Miss South India Charming 2022 and Miss India World 2022, she has graced international fashion events, collaborated with prestigious brands, and showcased her talent in both mainstream and independent cinema.
1. Can you tell us about your journey from Kolkata to becoming a successful supermodel and actress?
Ans. Since childhood, I have been keen on this field and I had support from my parents provided I completed my studies been a school topper. It all started as a passion for me while I was pursuing my engineering followed by my job as an
investment banker. I was in Mumbai in an investment bank and thought also to try my luck out there.
2. How did your educational background in engineering, and finance, and your Ph.D. from Harvard influence your career in the entertainment industry?
Ans. It is true and many people knowing my educational background ask me the same. This has been my passion since my college days and thought let’s give it a try. In Kolkata, my first involvement was as a fashion model in a small show followed by a fashion week.
3. Winning titles like Miss South India Charming 2022 and Miss India World 2022 must have been incredible achievements. Could you share your experiences during those competitions?
Ans. Yes absolutely, I was very active in sports and used to be a head prefect in my school days. These things I feel teach us how to handle situations irrespective of whatever domain we opt for. I was an investment banker and when I participated in the south-based pageant. I managed just to be myself that`s it.
4. Being recognized by the London World of Records and FTPC for your excellence in acting and modeling is impressive. What do these awards mean to you, and how have they impacted your career?
Well, the awards mean a lot to me being from a non-filmy background, with very less months of theater experience. If people like and appreciate my work that is the most precious gift for me from the audience being an artist.
